Scotland, meet the medical student

Hey y’all!  It’s been a while, figured I’d update you, seeing as you’re constantly pestering me for photos of the trip so far, what we’re doing, whether we’re alive…

Yeah, not so much.  But I still love you anyway.

But onto the good stuff.

HEY INTERWEBZ: If you’re listening… (UPDATED)

UPDATE: I tried my absolute bestest, but not a single car rental place in Cambridge would loan me an automatic car.  Not even the little local ones.  Thanks for all the help and crossed fingers, hope those who are lucky enough to go enjoy the show!

(Original post with the whole story HERE: https://atalantanuminor.wordpress.com/2012/06/28/meeting-mr-cumberbatch/ )

IF YOU HAVE TICKETS TO WWI PIANO AND POETRY (IN CHELTENHAM JULY 12TH) THAT YOU PLAN ON RETURNING, PLEASE DO SO ASAP OR CONTACT ME!

FIgured I’d give this one last shot.  It’s quite literally down to the wire and I’m still hanging onto hope that there are going to be returns sooner rather than later… though I must admit, it wanes a little bit every day I don’t get that call.

I’m currently in the UK, huzzah!  My friend and I just got back from Les Miserables at the beautiful Queen’s Theatre, absolutely loved our time here (with the exception of  the weather, blehhh) and can’t wait to see Cambridge for the first time tomorrow.  Hopefully, the day after that, we’ll be enjoying some Debussy and Ravel to words inspired by the years and lives spent during  WWI.But only with your help!  Please share, like, do what you must to get the message out.  Because you never know which of your friends or friends’ friends plans on ditching two tickets…

Thanks so much, all, hopefully I’ll report back in a few days with an excellent story!

On hiatus

Without my illuminating posts, that is.

Hey y’all – just a quick update to say ta ta for now.In case you haven’t been paying attention, I’m off to the UK tomorrow with my awesome med travel buddy.  We’re heading to England, Scotland, and Wales for 22 days, so I may or may not get the chance to write in the blog.  If I do, rest assured it will only be of the highest quality.  There will be no stooping to “neener-neener, you ain’t here” pictures or tales.  (Disclaimer: this does not apply to any or all situations in which I come in direct contact with Benedict Cumberbatch.)

Speaking of Mr. Bandy Cumbersnatch, no poetry tickets yet.  I’ve been in touch with a lovely girl from Cheltenham who’s been kind enough to ask around town for me.  Tumblr is a wonderful place.  Hopefully I’ll have them in my greedy paws before long.  If nothing else, I’ll celebrate July 19th (Mr. C’s birthday) with an obscene amount of chocolate and flag-waving, listening to the BBC Radio’s recording of the show.

Anyway, off to pack a bit (or a lot…), pray for our luggage and see you in August!

Meeting Mr. Cumberbatch?

So I have a very, very, sad story to tell.  Of course, if you don’t know who Benedict Cumberbatch is, this isn’t going to make much sense.

So here.  On the right.

The short story is that he’s a marvellous British actor whose career is taking off in a major way (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, War Horse, BBC’s Sherlock, The Hobbit, and the new Star Trek sequel, to name a few).  To answer a few common questions: Yes, he’s naturally a ginger.  No, he’s not gay.  Yes, he’s too old for me.  No, I don’t give a damn.

And now on with my story.
